Aftur Nerdrum. Wild and Beautiful. /Mjuːz/

Aftur has a lot on the go, and she does it very much her own way. She notices the details, dresses with intention and has little interest in doing what everyone else is doing. We recognise ourselves in that.

Right now, she is working on a book project, with several TV appearances coming towards the end of 2026 and into 2027. Season two of Familien Nerdrum arrives over Christmas, with another TV project following in the new year.

And at the end of this month, she is launching a podcast with a friend, made for romantics, dreamers and anyone who loves getting lost in films and books. There is more in the works, but for now, she is keeping a few things to herself.

Take us through a look that feels completely you.

I always come back to the little black dress. With sheer or polka-dot tights, black shoes with a modest heel, pearls and, of course, a silk scarf.

The Later dress feels very me. I’d wear it with polka-dot tights and a pearl necklace, then add a trench and tie a silk scarf over my head. Think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

I love colours, but black always wins. I’m drawn to a defined waist, a little structure at the shoulders, and beautiful details: collars, bows, and a touch of lace.

And the fabric matters. I love natural materials that feel good against the skin: silk, cotton and linen. For me, it’s classic femininity with something playful added.

Who is your muse, Aftur?

Audrey Hepburn has always been my ultimate muse. I love the way she combined femininity, elegance and playfulness. The defined waist, the silk scarves, the trench coats, the timeless colours...it all feels very close to how I like to dress.

What I love most is that she could be elegant and ladylike one moment, then playful and almost boyish the next. I like that a woman can hold all of those sides at once.

I’m also drawn to women with a very clear sense of self, from Diane Keaton and Princess Diana to writers like Jane Austen, Emily Dickinson and Mary Shelley. Women who create, express themselves and aren’t afraid to have a point of view.

Just curious: out of 365 days, how many would we find you in a pair of jeans?

Not many! I own three pairs of trousers, and that feels like enough. I’ll wear jeans at home with the children or for something relaxed, but when I go out, I usually feel most like myself in a dress or skirt.

My favourite pair is high-waisted with a slightly sixties/seventies feel. I always style them with something feminine on top.

I do love them. I just don’t let everyone see me in them.

What does femininity mean to you?

To me, femininity is strength, wildness, beauty, and playfulness.

As a child, I always wanted to dress up, even when everyone else dressed down. I loved the feeling of putting on a dress and stockings and being a little bit more than ordinary.

As an adult, I think I’m still trying to hold on to that girl.

I love classic shapes and defined silhouettes, but there always has to be something a little unexpected: a silk scarf, glittery socks, a bow, red lipstick.

“Wild and beautiful” is a phrase I keep coming back to.

For me, femininity is not about making yourself smaller. It is about expressing who you are, and having the confidence to enjoy it.

No wonder she’s our muse.
