Transparency Act Statement

The purpose of the Norwegian Transparency Act is to “promote enterprises' respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and the provision of services and ensure the general public access to information regarding how enterprises address adverse impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.”

The Act makes it mandatory for large and medium sized companies to conduct human rights due diligence (HRDD) throughout their supply chain, following the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. This means that Norwegian companies must commit to responsible business practices and embed this responsibility into policies and management systems; identify and assess adverse impacts in their operations, supply chains and business relationships; cease, prevent or mitigate these adverse impacts; track implementation and results of the measures; communicate how impacts are addressed; and provide for or cooperate in remediation when appropriate. As a subsidiary of an Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) member, we have also committed to promote and respect their (ETI) Declaration of Principles.

While Pia Tjelta Studio currently does not have to report according to the Transparency Act, we nonetheless believe that responsible business practices are an essential part of being a trusted brand and ensuring the safety and prosperity of our partners in all tiers of the value chain.

As such, we do conduct due diligence assessments on our supply chain, and work to identify and mitigate risks and adverse impacts in our operations. Our policies and procedures follow the principles of the Ethical Trade Initiative and guidelines of OECD, and we are implementing and communicating these to our suppliers and business partners.

Throughout 2024 we have had no indications of any material breach in our supplier guidelines concerning human rights or labor rights, and no sign of any severe environmental impact linked to or caused by our business.
